Love these!
I love making the large cubes as they melt slowly compared to regular cubes. The only issue I have is I can’t get the smell out of them after a couple of years. (They pick up refrigerator smells) Even though I wash them regularly. Great ice cube trays.

Are Tovolo ice molds dishwasher safe?

Yes. The silicone molds and trays go straight in the dishwasher. A quick rinse with water and white vinegar also clears any mineral film.

How long does the ice take to freeze?

Plan on freezing overnight for large cubes, spheres and shaped ice, so they are solid all the way through.

What else can I freeze in them?

Coffee for iced coffee, juice for smoothies, herbs in oil for cooking, and single portions of sauce or baby food.

What are the molds made of?

BPA free, food grade silicone that stays flexible through freeze after freeze without turning brittle or flavoring your ice.

How big is the ice?

King Cube trays make six 2 in (5.1 cm) cubes. Perfect Cube trays make fifteen 1.25 in (3.2 cm) cubes. Sphere molds make 2.5 in (6.4 cm) spheres, sized for a rocks glass.

Can I pop out one cube at a time?

Yes. Press from the back of a single cavity and that cube releases while the rest stay frozen in the tray.

Why is my ice cloudy?

Cloudy ice is trapped air and minerals, which every standard mold produces. It melts just as slowly as clear ice. For clearer results, start with boiled or filtered water that has cooled.

My black silicone has a white film. Is it damaged?

No. That film is mineral residue from hard water and dishwasher detergent. Wipe it with white vinegar or soak in warm water and vinegar, then rinse.

My silicone smells like garlic or soap. How do I fix it?

Scrub with a paste of baking soda and water, rinse, and let it dry fully. For stubborn odors, a short soak in diluted white vinegar helps.
