Product Disclosures
Tovolo is committed to delivering safe, high-quality kitchen tools that make cooking more joyful and intuitive. Every product we design is crafted to perform beautifully and meet rigorous safety and quality standards. All Tovolo products comply with the applicable rules established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, including relevant requirements of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations governing safe materials for food contact.
California Assembly Bill 1200 (“A.B. 1200”) and Colorado House Bill 22-1345 (“H.B. 22-1345”) require manufacturers of cookware and kitchen electrics to disclose the presence of certain chemicals intentionally added to product handles or to any surface that contacts food or beverages. California’s A.B. 1200 applies to chemicals identified on the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Candidate Chemicals List, and Colorado’s H.B. 22-1345 applies to PFAS chemicals.
About Materials Used in Tovolo Products
Tovolo tools are crafted from thoughtfully selected materials—such as premium silicone, stainless steel, BPA-free plastics, and durable nylon—chosen for performance, longevity, and food safety. All food-contact materials used in Tovolo products are compliant with FDA regulations for food safety.
1. What the law requires
Certain U.S. state regulations require cookware and kitchen electrics brands like Tovolo to publicly disclose intentionally added chemicals in specific product components.
We provide this information transparently in accordance with:
- California Assembly Bill 1200 (AB 1200, Cal. Health & Safety Code § 109010 et seq.) requires cookware manufacturers to disclose whether any intentionally added chemical from the DTSC Candidate Chemicals List is present in:
- the food-contact surface
- the handle / exterior surface
- Colorado House Bill 22-1345 (H.B. 22-1345) requires disclosure of intentionally added PFAS chemicals used in:
- any food-contact surface surface
- any handle or applied surface coatings
Understanding the Disclosures
These disclosures are not safety warnings. They are informational listings required by state law. A listed chemical does not necessarily mean the product presents a health or safety risk.
“Intentionally added” means a substance deliberately introduced for a functional purpose (for example, nonstick performance or color). Trace contaminants are not included.
2. Tovolo products covered
If a product family appears in the table below, it contains an intentionally added chemical listed by DTSC. If it is not listed, no intentionally added DTSC-listed chemical is present.
